Body Changes During Puberty

Puberty is a time when your body goes through many natural changes. These changes are a normal part of growing up and happen to every girl, just at different times and in different ways.

It’s important to remember: all of these changes are completely normal. There is nothing wrong with your body.

🌼 Body Odor

As you go through puberty, your sweat glands become more active, which can lead to stronger body odor.

This is completely normal and can be managed by:

  • Showering regularly

  • Wearing clean clothes

  • Using deodorant if needed

Body odor is simply your body adjusting as you grow.

💧 Sweating

You may notice that you sweat more than you did when you were younger.

This happens because your body is becoming more active hormonally. It’s especially noticeable during exercise, hot weather, or stressful moments.

Sweating is healthy—it helps your body regulate temperature.

🌿 Hair Growth

During puberty, hair starts to grow in new places, including:

  • Underarms

  • Pubic area

  • Legs and arms (may become thicker)

This is a natural part of development and happens to everyone.

✨ Acne (Pimples)

Hormones during puberty can make your skin produce more oil, which can lead to acne.

You may notice:

  • Pimples on your face

  • Breakouts on your chest or back

  • Oily skin

This is very common and usually improves over time with a gentle skincare routine.

🗣️ Voice Changes

Although more noticeable in boys, girls may also experience slight voice changes during puberty.

Your voice may:

  • Crack occasionally

  • Sound slightly different at times

This is due to changes in your vocal cords as your body grows.

📏 Height Changes (Growth Spurts)

You may grow taller quickly during puberty—sometimes in a short period of time.

You might notice:

  • Needing new clothes or shoes often

  • Legs or arms growing first

  • Feeling like your body is changing quickly

Growth happens at different speeds for everyone.

⚖️ Weight Changes

It is normal for your body shape and weight to change during puberty.

You may notice:

  • Hips becoming wider

  • Natural weight gain

  • Changes in body proportions

These changes are part of your body developing into its adult shape.

💜 You Are Not Alone in These Changes

Every girl experiences puberty differently. Some changes may happen early, others later, and some may feel more noticeable than others.

There is no “perfect” body or timeline—only your own.

Your body is doing exactly what it is meant to do, and all of these changes are signs of healthy growth.

At Anza, we believe every girl deserves to feel confident, informed, and proud of her body as it changes. 💜
